Wheelchair ramp hire

Modular aluminium access ramps supplied, installed and collected for as long as they are needed. Hire suits a situation with an end date: coming home from hospital, recovering from surgery, a temporary entrance, or trying a ramp before committing to a permanent one.

When hire is the right answer

  • Coming home from hospital

Access is needed on a date that is already set, and often before a funding decision has been made.

  • Recovering from surgery or injury

The need is real but temporary, and a permanent ramp would be taken out again within months.

  • Waiting on funding

An application is in progress and the client needs to get in and out of the house now.

  • A rented or listed home

A permanent modification is not wanted, or not permitted by the owner.

  • Temporary access

A venue, a site office or an entrance that needs an accessible path for a defined period.

  • Trying before buying

The ramp is installed and used before a decision is made to purchase the same configuration.

Why an occupational therapist asks for hire

A discharge date is usually fixed before the funding is. Hire closes the gap between the two: the client gets home safely on the day, and the decision about a permanent ramp is made properly rather than under time pressure. RampAssist modular access ramps supplied and installed for temporary hire by Innovate Access Group.

What a hire includes

SupplyModular aluminium ramp, configured to the site
HandrailsBoth sides, where the configuration requires them
DeliveryTo site, anywhere in Victoria we service
InstallationSet out, assembled and levelled on site
CollectionRemoved at the end of the hire, the site left as found
Hire agreementPeriod, terms and responsibilities set out in writing before anything is delivered

How it works

  • 1. Tell us about the site

A photograph of the entrance, the height from the ground to the threshold, and the date access is needed.

  • 2. We confirm the configuration

Ramp length and layout follow the height and the space available. Where a site visit is needed, we say so.

  • 3. Quote and agreement

A written quote, and a hire agreement setting out the period and the terms. Hire is paid before delivery.

  • 4. Install, use, collect

Installed on the agreed date. Collected when the hire ends, or converted to a purchase if that turns out to be the better answer.

Funding

Hire can be funded through the same routes as a purchase, and which one applies depends on the scheme and the assessment. Funding for access modifications sets out NDIS, Support at Home, DVA, TAC and WorkSafe, with links to the primary source for each.
